NSSOL Signs Strategic Partnership Agreement with Anthropic

NS Solutions Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Kazuhiko Tamaoki; hereinafter “NSSOL”) has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Anthropic, PBC (Head Office: San Francisco, California, United States; Co-founder and CEO: Dario Amodei; hereinafter “Anthropic”) as of September 18, 2026.
This partnership, Anthropic’s first such agreement with a user-oriented systems integrator in Japan, will combine Anthropic’s cutting-edge AI technology with the industry expertise and operational insight that NSSOL has cultivated over many years, as well as its comprehensive capabilities covering the conception, design, building, and operation of large-scale mission-critical systems. This will elevate AI from a “convenient tool” to an “active participant in business,” thereby boosting productivity and accelerating decision-making in Japanese industries, particularly manufacturing, and driving corporate transformation in which humans and AI collaborate to create new value.

Japanese industry is facing structural changes such as a shrinking workforce, difficulties in passing down technical expertise within companies, the need to comply with decarbonization and environmental regulations, and increasingly diverse customer demands. As a result, there is a growing number of situations that are difficult to address using the traditional timeline of forecasting, analysis, planning, and execution, making enhanced “responsiveness to change” the top priority. Underlying this issue is the fragmentation of the processes that connect systems, data, and people. NSSOL recognizes Anthropic’s generative AI and AI agent technologies as game-changers in solving these problems. Furthermore, Anthropic believes that the industrial expertise and operational insight possessed by NSSOL is essential for expanding the use of AI in business.
Through this partnership, we aim to combine Anthropic’s high-performance, highly reliable generative AI models and advanced AI agent technology with the operational insight NSSOL has cultivated in real-world business settings. By doing so, we aim to create AI agents that bridge gaps and foster collaboration, thereby enhancing companies’ “responsiveness to change.”

With AI capabilities now more advanced than ever, it has become even more important for companies to maintain AI-ready data.
NSSOL will combine Anthropic’s cutting-edge AI technology with NSSOL’s operational insight to build a platform that uses AI agents to integrate data and processes scattered across multiple organizations and systems. In addition, we will convert the various information assets accumulated by companies, as well as real-time data reflecting changes in the business environment, into explicit knowledge interpretable by AI. By combining this data with the new insight gained through business processes that incorporate AI, we will realize an “AI-native world” (Note1) where humans and AI evolve alongside one another.

For many years, NSSOL has built and operated large-scale, mission-critical systems for customers such as Nippon Steel, building up a wealth of expertise in the development and maintenance of systems. At the same time, there are numerous core systems in Japan that are burdened with technical debt, and addressing this issue now poses a challenge. Furthermore, there is a growing demand for a new approach to modernization that enables the use of AI after migration.
By utilizing Claude Code (Note2) for systems with massive codebases, this partnership will expand the scope of AI applications to include tasks that have traditionally been handled by highly specialized personnel, such as system diagnostics and the development of plans for migrating from legacy systems to new ones. As such, it will enable the provision of integrated support, from understanding and analyzing legacy systems to building and migrating them. In addition to implementing modernization of legacy systems, allowing them to meet the need for building new AI-ready infrastructure, NSSOL plans to offer headless ERP (Note3) that can operate in conjunction with AI agents as new core systems.

NSSOL is backed by Nippon Steel, one of the world’s leading steelmakers, and as such, it operates on the front lines of IT and OT utilization. This partnership will enable employees from NSSOL and Nippon Steel to work side by side to accelerate the adoption of Anthropic’s cutting-edge AI and put “Client Zero” (Note4) into practice. We will deliver AI-related technologies developed without compromise under this partnership to customers across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing sectors such as non-ferrous metals, oil, chemicals, and automotive, as well as finance, distribution, services, and the public sector.

Through this partnership, NSSOL will transform AI from a “convenient tool” into an “active participant in business.” Furthermore, by implementing new AI technologies developed by Anthropic alongside leading global best practices, NSSOL and Anthropic will strive to deliver even greater value to customers.
